Learning About the All Electric Car

Although electric cars are a relatively new form of vehicle technology, they are quickly becoming popular worldwide. An all electric car is very different from a conventional car, and quite simply, an all electric car is a type of vehicle that uses a mixture of different technologies such as internal combustion engines, electric motors, gasoline and batteries to run.

About the All Electric Car

An all electric car has a set of batteries that provides electricity to an electric motor in the vehicle, and the motor turns a transmission, and the transmission turns the wheels. The attempt here is to increase the mileage and reduce the emissions as much as possible.

Structure

The structure of an all electric car is quite basic, and the most major components are: gasoline engine, fuel tank, electric motor, generator, batteries, and a transmission. A lot of these components are similar, some even identical, to those in a conventional car, however in electric cars they have different functions and are friendlier for you, your family and the environment.

Advantages

There are many advantages that come from having an electric car, namely the fact that you are saving the air from pollutants that you otherwise would be emitting into the environment. Electric cars are 100% emission free, and have no pollution byproducts. They secure their power from batteries, the sun or hydrogen fuel cells.

Electric cars are therefore emission free, lightweight, compact, they are three times as efficient as gas engines, have excellent ranges, easy refueling and are totally safe to drive.

Electric cars basically blend the best of the conventional car with the best of electric cars for a winning combination, and they unite the cleaner energy of the electric motor with the long-range power of the gasoline engine, truly giving you the best of both worlds.

Disadvantages

Just as there are advantages there are certain disadvantages as well however, to the electric cars, such as the fact that they tend to have long recharge times. This means that you cannot use the car while you are waiting for the battery to recharge, and as well electric cars tend to have rather exorbitant costs associated with them, as you have to continuously power the battery that runs the electric motor.

Basically you just have to sit down and weigh out all the advantages and disadvantages, in order to best determine whether the electric car is the best choice for you.
